Products of "bulge rod" type can be obtained by plastic working both in conditions of cold deformation, and in condition of half-hot and hot or hot deformation. Using crosscut extrusion in stamping technology can reduce energy costs and eliminate the possibility of destruction in the zone of transition from thickening (flange) to the core of the product. The effectiveness of the transverse processes and combined extrusion is ensured due to a significant reduction in consumption and increasing of CMM (in 1,5-2,5 times) and reducing the complexity of subsequent mechanical machining. However, in addition to improving of thickening set technology, a real question remains about how to increase the deformable part of the core piece, and, consequently, increase of the final ratio L / D. The article presents the results of experimental studies of the radial extrusion process with the running hotbed of deformation product type rod with a thickening. A principal possibility of obtaining products of type bar with a thickened by combining in a single instrument two technological schemes: the landing and transverse (radial) extrusion. Accomplished studies have quantified estimation of changes in the height of thickening, depending on the ratio of the planted part of the product to its diameter, and, depending on the composition of the technological lubricant. The obtained data can be used in numerical simulation of the radial extrusion of the running hotbed of deformation.
