This paper analyzes the programmes of the world leaders of nanotechnology industry, revealing their strengths. An analysis of the Russian program of the innovation development was conducted. The attention was payed to the current situation and prospects. There was made a classification of factors that hinder the development of innovative processes in Russia. Author considered the possible ways to overcome the identified obstacles.
