In the paper, using the methods of reliability theory and calculus of variations was posed and solved the problem of increasing the efficiency of industrial equipment at enterprises on processing of solid household waste. An experimental base for research was the actual operating time to failure of machines and equipment of existing waste treatment plants of Moscow. Results allow to choose the operating modes corresponding to maximum reliability of the equipment.
