In this paper, the author focuses on the current issue of media literacy in the context of Latgale and evaluates the contribution of journalists and librarians to public information and education. Various programmes to support media and the European Media Literacy Week, established in 2019, are the two main driving forces that encourage professionals in Latvia (including Latgale) to focus on this not-so-simple topic.
