The article is devoted to the history of the development of investment activity in Donetsk region during the pre-war period. The above-mentioned material highlights the problems and prospects for the development of investment activities in an uncertain of the legal status of the Donetsk People’s Republic during a long armed conflict. All possible financial risks were also considered, they may be incurred in the process of increasing the investment appeal of the Republic.
