Known distribution of Schlegeliaceae family is extended by the presence of Gibsoniothamnus cornutus in western Mexico. The description of the species is lengthened, including the pollen grain description, which is scarcely described in the family. Information on the ecology of the species is provided, and several of its characters are illustrated with photographs and microphotographs. A distribution map of Gibsoniothamnus cornutus in México is presented.
