The technology of creating a virtual museum of memorable places associated with famous personalities is considered. It includes the analysis of various sources of information and databases on the places of residence of famous people and their activities during their stay; creation of preliminary drawings and cartographic images of the territory; development of photorealistic three-dimensional models. The creation of a virtual space in the form of a virtual museum was carried out using the Open Simulator and 3DVista software platform. The implementation of the technology is illustrated by the example of the virtual reconstruction of the family estate of V. I. Vernadsky in the village of Vernadovka in the Pichaevsky district of the Tambov region, associated with the social and professional activities of this outstanding Russian scientist. The visualization of the museum is available to all Internet users.
