In the context of the problem-based approach, the concept of superposition of functions is studied. The subject of the research is considered in three aspects: pedagogical, mathematical and methodological. The development of the concept of superposition and its connection with other definitions and facts from the initial level of mathematical education to the levels of high school and university are traced. A problem-based system has been built, the components of which are theoretical exercises, problems of a standard and constructive nature, based on the properties and application of superpositions. The corresponding methodological support of the decision process is proposed.
