The purpose of the article is to present the significance, the origins and the development of Volunteer Labor Corps in Kalisz. From the beginning of its activity, it supports the educational system by social, professional and economic activation of youth from the dysfunctional environment. The article was written based on the analysis of documents and interviews. It enumerates stages of the VLC’s development and initiatives which support youth’s employment acquisition and qualification improvement.
