Concept muraling is a direct instructional approach that visually represents the material to be taught. Using simple illustrations, the teacher presents an aural overview of the content area text to be studied in a form of visual representation. When used as a scaffolding technique, concept muraling can provide students with the basic concepts needed to comprehend content area text. For diverse learners and those with learning disabilities, it can be a foundation for other learning.
