Pós-modernidade: sociedade da imagem e sociedade do conhecimento

O artigo aborda as configurações institucionais da sociedade contemporânea nas teorias da pós-modernidade. Distingue duas grandes caracterizações, a sociedade da imagem e a sociedade do conhecimento, e a delimitação das estruturas sociais nessas concepções. Observa a pertinência do debate sobre a pós-modernidade e a fertilidade das questões aí apresentadas. In this examination of contemporary society’s institutional configurations as seen from the perspective of post-modernity theories, the article identifies two major characterizations-the society of images and the society of knowledge-and delineates the social structures found within these conceptions. It points to the pertinence of the debate regarding post-modernity and the fertility of related issues
