O artigo apresenta as idéias centrais da dissertação homô-nima, preocupada com a identificação da ideologia do regionalismo do Estado de São Paulo, a construção de deter-minadas imagens utilizando a história tradicional por parte dos intelectuais da oligarquia paulista, bem como a projeção dessas características histórico-tradicionais dessa ideologia através do tempo via ensino público. The article presents the central ideas of the homonymous dissertation, preoccupied about the identification of the regionalist ideology of the São Paulo's state, the building of some images utilizing the tradicional history, by the paulista oligarchy's intelectuals, and also the projection of those historic-traditional characteristics of that ideology through the time by way of public teaching
