The article analyzes the phenomenon of media ecology in the context of culture and educational objectives. The issues of media ecology are revealed on the basis of an interdisciplinary methodology and taking into account the analysis of the sociocultural realities of recent times (posttruth, infodemia, the formation of an informationmedia linguistic personality). The author identifies the three most significant aspects of media ecology for the current state of media culture — ethical, communicative and educational — and reveals their specifics. Special attention is paid to media education, defined as an ecological and aesthetic type of educational practice. It is concluded that with the development of digitalization and mediatization, axiological aspects of media ecology will be especially relevant, since they relate to the existence of a person in the world of culture.
