In this article, the author attempts to trace the transformation of Anna Akhmatova’s image and status in the context of the changing social and cultural situation as well as the change of the generation of readers during the period between the poet’s centenary in 1989 and her anniversaries in the 21st century. Establishing correlation between the selection of material that is related to the posthumous fate of the image of “a great Russian poet” with the author’s individual framework allows to make conclusions about the main changes in Akhmatova’s reception within the last 30 years using bibliography, websites and her portrayal in films.
