A fishway constructed of angle iron and reinforcing bar was installed in a high‐gradient culvert to allow the passage of Yellowstone cutthroat trout Oncorhynchus clarki bouvieri to upstream spawning areas. The structure was detachable from the culvert, inexpensive, and portable. The fishway was still effective 8 years after installation.
