Fall catch rates of young‐of‐the‐year (age‐0) walleyes Stizostedion vitreum in 25‐mm (bar measure) gill nets were highly correlated with catches of yearlings in 38‐mm‐mesh nets the following fall in six Kansas reservoirs (r = 0.835; P < 0.001), indicating that fall gill‐net catch rates of age‐0 fish are useful indicators of walleye recruitment.
