STREAM/SOURCE 1 and STREAM/SOURCE 2, two versions of a FORTRAN simulator of a stream fishery for stocked trout, can be used separately or together to predict effects of size limits, stocking schedules, and changes in distribution of fishing effort on fishery yield. Yield is expressed in terms of numbers and weights of Age‐1 + and Age‐2 + trout creeled, and numbers caught and released for each month and for the fishing season, both as yield per unit area and as yield per hour of fishing. STREAM/SOURCE 1 is the longer, more generalized program, requiring a relatively simple input. STREAM/SOURCE 2 is an abbreviated version that can accommodate manipulation of monthly values of fishery parameters. Output from STREAM/SOURCE 1 includes a table of monthly values that is identical to a STREAM/SOURCE 2 input list, and may be modified to conform with aberrant empirical data before being entered as input for STREAM/SOURCE 2. Listings of STREAM/SOURCE 1 and STREAM/SOURCE 2 are available from the authors.
