Eleven of 42 adult striped bass collected from Coos Bay, Oregon, were possibly protandrous. The older hermaphrodites, ages 7 to 10 years, showed increasing signs of pathology associated with egg retention. Received October 25, 1982 Accepted May 10, 1983
