Bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) were fed commercial fish food in a 30.4‐hectare lake. Growth and body condition changes were evaluated, harvest data were collected, and random movement of bluegill within the lake was studied. Supplemental feeding provided bigger and better bluegill for fishermen and improved the overall condition of the total bluegill population. The harvest of bluegill increased greatly during the 3‐year study. Bluegill movement around the lake was documented. Supplemental feeding can be an important management tool in reclaiming slow‐growing, stunted bluegill populations.
