The Delphi technique, a methodology for systematically developing a consensus of expert opinion, is suggested as a potentially useful fishery management tool. This paper describes the Delphi techique and provides an example of a Delphi experiment that was designed to obtain an estimate of the recreational (diver) catch of spiny lobsters from Florida waters.
