Estimates were made of the sport catches of adult steelhead (Salmo gairdneri) in the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River for the winters of 1962–63 (20,000 fishermen) and 1963–64 (11,600 fishermen). Average catch per fisherman was 0.25 fish per day in the first season and 0.35 in the second. Total catches were approximately 5,000 and 4,000 steelhead, respectively. Releases from semi‐natural rearing ponds made up nearly 34% of the 1963–64 catch, while hatchery releases were about 18% of the 1963–64 catch.
