The concentration of some elements and compounds found in the seminal fluids of various fishes were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry and ultra‐microbiochemical analyses. Histological studies of spermatozoa from these species showed the presence of several types of abnormalities. These abnormalities were categorized as primary or secondary on the basis of possible detriment to reproductive function, as observed with bovine spermatozoa.
