Production statistics and costs in fish hatcheries vary greatly because methods of record‐keeping are not uniform. A method of procedure is presented which covers expenditures, production data, and the itemizing of facilities which govern the productive capacity of a hatchery. Such data for an individual unit are discussed and the available facilities are described. Expenditures and production for a period of 1 year are given in accompanying tables. Statistics are presented in tabular form on the cost of unit production (1 pound), on production in relation to flow, to volume, and to rate of change per hour. If comparable information is made available for other hatchery units, comparisons may be made which will result in better hatchery design and more efficient management.
