The study was designed to determine at what rate rainbow trout (Salmo gairdnerii) fingerlings lose weight at different temperatures under conditions of starvation. The data show that the average percentage loss per day was about 0.9 per cent at 7.94° C., 1.1 per cent at 11.3° C. and 1.3 per cent at 14.6° C. The rate of loss at each temperature is significantly different from the rates at the other temperatures.
