Data provided by 50 institutions of higher education indicated that there is a wide variety of fishery and fishery‐related programs throughout the United States. With present facilities, faculty, and operational funding, most of the institutions responded that their programs are responsive to both student and industry/employment needs. However, more than 50% of the institutions project new faculty recruitment, expansion of existing or building of new facilities, and acquisition of new equipment.
