Callicarpa candicans (Burm. f.) Hochr. is used in Vietnamese traditional medicine for the treatment of several diseases such as a tonic for new mothers, helps muscles strong, as drugs to treat some diseases of the liver, stomach pain, cure pimples, ulceration. Phytochemical investigation of the ethyl acetate extract of C. candicans led to the isolation of three terpenoids, ursolic acid ( 1 ) as the main compound, 2α‐hydroxy‐ursolic acid ( 2 ), 2α,3β,23‐trihydroxyurs‐12‐en‐28‐oic acid ( 3 ), genkwanin ( 4 ) isolated for the first time from plant and luteolin‐7‐O‐β‐D‐glucopyranoside ( 5 ). Their chemical structures were determined by spectroscopic methods including MS, 1D, 2D NMR and comparing with those reported in previous papers.
