The problems of ensuring environmental safety through the prism of the Smart City concept are analyzed. Emphasis is placed on the technologies of the “smart city”. The effects of the use of such technologies in the environmental sphere are considered. The problem of radiophobia in Moscow is illustrated. The costs of operating the media in covering environmental issues are indicated. Let us give an example of a radiation-ecological monitoring system.
