The aim of this paper is the analysis of the legislative package, proposed by European Commission, called „Fit for 55” with an emphasis on the instruments of combating energy poverty during the climate transformation till 2050. This study examines the main goals and tasks of Social Climate Found and the Social Climate Plans of the EU Member States. The conducted research aims to verify the hypothesis, that the freedom from energy poverty should be classified not only as a part of EU energy strategy but also as a human right within the framework of protection of fundamental rights and freedoms in the European Union.
