Maize (Zea mays L.) is a crop grown all over the world. Its availability makes it a widely used species. It is a predominant food raw material for human or animal consumption, used as a raw material for bioethanol production and in the chemical industry. Another dynamically developing direction of the use of maize is their use for energy purposes. The paper presents the possibilities of using maize plants in the industrial aspect intended for energy production.
