17 out of 24 quantitative characteristics were evaluated for three years in a collection of 112 populations of beans from the Northern region of Spain. The cluster type analysis was utilized, which revealed the existing genetic relationship among them, as well as the procedence on what concerns the two main centers of original domestication of this species: that is, South America and Central America. The results were classified into three groups, of which two groups were related with the domestication origin center in South America and the third group with the Central American origin. The possible relationship existing between these groups was also established as wells the different breeds and genetic sources pertaining to each of the original domestication areas.
