The report considers new important fundamental results in the field of mathematical problems of the dynamics of liquid-filled bodies with a free surface, obtained at the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. These results potentially have a wide range of applications, from traditional engineering (metallurgy, rocketry, aircraft-, shipbuilding, new materials with predefined properties, etc.) to biomedicine, drug development and biotechnology. It was emphasized that for further effective development of this area it is necessary to strengthen coordination with institutions of the NAS of Ukraine in the field of biomedical and materials science, expand international scientific cooperation and pay special attention to training highly qualified scientific personnel of the relevant specialization.
