There are different theories about culture, its fuction and purpose, conditions and causes of its origin and also development of its varieties. Cultural or social anthropology together with the philosophy of culture gave a fundamental contribution within the complementary humanistic culturological disciplines. The most significant anthropological theories of culture arc certainly the following: evolutionary, diffusionist, functionalist and structural.
