In the Eall of 1944 all bigger towns in Dalmatia were liberated and after the battle for Knin (Dec. 3rd, 1944) the whole of Dalmatia was finally liberated. After the liberation all the counties started work on the reconstruction of agricultural, educational and cultural life of the people who had such a hard lime when their towns were bombed and destroyed under the occupation during the Sccong World War (1941-1945). The work was started with the reconstruction of primary education about which the author wrote in the most recent issue of Radovi. At the same time the work was begun on middle and high education. In the towns were 'civil' schools exited before the beginning of the Second World War, the middle schools were introduced which were similar to the first grades of high school. Complete high schools continued with their work at the places where they existed until the beginning of the Second World War. Titer is reconstruction of the specialized schools which changed their names to agricultural schools instead of 'apprentice' schools as they were called before. In the liberated Dalmatia in the school year 1944-45 thirteen middle schools anil nine high schools were opened. There were 275 teacher employed and 7570 pupils attended the schools.Teaching in middle schools was conducted systematically although there was never enough of books and school equipment. The leaching program went on as based on the educational program of the ZAVNOH and it could be adapted to the needs of particular schools. The teaching plan had instructions about the meetings, grading of pupils, conduct in schools and the coordination of schools with the youth organizations. There werer rules about duties, school regulations and also disciplinary sanctions.Specialized schools also had the adequate school program. Music schools were organized in Split, Šibenik and Dubrovnik. Middle specialized schools played an important role in the rehabilitation of agricultural and economic life in the destroyed towns in Dalmatia.
