Nowadays we rightly speak about the crisis in education as a universal phenomenon, which amongst others, is caused by big changes and dilectics, which gives the crisis a permanent characteristic. The crisis can be seen between the given, planned, and wanted in real achievable conditions and the achieved, in these objective circumstances. The indicators of the crisis in the educational system are many, such as: efficiency of the system which is seen between input and output, the educational level of the population, the level of achieved individual educational needs, and society’s institutions, the level of motivation of youth and adults for permanent education and self-education, and then for creative work. The crisis is manifested through the number of illiterate people. Including the an-alphabetlcal literacy, and if we add to this modern computer illiteracy, the situation becomes really alarming. According to the first category of literacy, we hold the top rank amongst other countries in Europe, so that in some parts of the country we have up to 25% of Illiterate people over the age of 15 years. The causes of the crisis are many. Here are some of them: the aim and the tasks are not realistic, the educational plans and programmesa are not up to modern standards, democratisation and expansion of education is not accompanied by the educational infrastructure, the schools are isolated from social realities, economical status of education, accelereation of science, their didactical design and implimentation into educational plans and programmes, practical realisation of permanent education and training etc.The way out of the crisis, or putting it into acceptable limits lies in more intensive research and application of science, especially in the area of : integration of the school into all aspects of society, the re-design of school as a social institu- ion through better reproduction of teaching personnel, application of modern techniques, technology, methods, organisation of eductional process with the pupils as the subject in it, to develop the adult educational system, to give to educa- lion the status of profitable investment and not consumption.
