The paper presents investigation aimed at establishing the effects of chronic asthma with children and their everyday adaptation to health problems. Children at the age of 11 and 17 suffering from extrinsic type of asthma underwent examination. The results show that asthmatic children use and estimate active strategy as the most efficient one in confronting with health problems, revealing their capacity to control their illness through active confrontation. Significant relations, i.e. connections between anxiety and self-respect using strategies of confrontation with health problems, have not been defined in investigation.
