Russell’s work »Human Knowledge« deals with inferences researches in empirical sciences. One of his major aims is the find out some sythetic general prepositons among the promises of scientific inferences. These premises are necessary to make it possible to drav walid general scientific inferences derived from directly experiencing facts Rassell’s postulata function is to obtain these general premises.Proceeding from the assumption that that science is truth, Russell realizes that this truth is not total certainty but that anything given by scientific results is more or less certain, i. e. inferences drawn in empirical sciences are probable and not totally certain in character.
