The landscape of alternative splicing is only beginning to unravel, and the functional consequences are often unclear. These appear strongly regulated by RNA ‐binding proteins ( RBP s) and functionally modulate protein–protein interactions with strong evidence for deregulation in autism spectrum disorder.
