RECENT DISSERTATIONS IN MEDICAL ANTHROPOLOGY

[Each year, the Guide to Departments of Anthropology, issued by the American Anthropological Association, lists the titles and authors of dissertations submitted in connection with PhD degrees awarded during each academic year. We have gone through the most recent (1981‐82) issue of the Guide searching for titles in medical anthropology and have managed to locate 59 such dissertations for academic year 1980‐81. The authors and titles of these medical anthropological dissertations are listed below. Since determination of whether a dissertation was included in our listing was made solely on the basis of its title, it is entirely possible that we have included some works that do not rightly belong with the others, and that we have excluded others that should appear here. – Eds.]
