During the past three decades, it is argued, feminist anthropology and psychological anthropology have had little impact on one another. This introduction provides the historical background to this surprising impasse—why these two subdisciplines, which could be mutually enriching, have had separate trajectories. The introduction also provides a brief summary of each article, indicating how it contributes to a new feminist psychological anthropology.
