We have been asked to discuss our own central interests, how those are faring today, and where we see them going in the future. I did that on Thursday, in my plenary session paper, "The Mainstreaming of Cultural Models." Since the present assignment was sprung on me after I had committed to address that topic in the plenary session, here I will try to add another dimension to what I had said Thursday.
