AN IDEALIZED PORTRAYAL of the lifestyle and values of the new urban middle class is abstracted from a Pittsburgh promotional film that is extensively used by corporations to recruit young professionals and executives. The film provides an excellent resource for the ethnography of this population with its distinct class culture and consumer habits.
