This article describes the extent to which Turkish returnees from Germany are involved in promoting their children's careers in school. The significance of schooling for the process of reintegration is considered in the context of social change in urban Turkey. An overview of Turkish labor migration in Germany is presented, as are return migration statistics. Results of an anthropological study among returnees in two Turkish metropoles that differ from these findings are developed and substantiated using interview material.
