I discuss a number of problems that plague teaching assistants (TAs) in anthropology: personal problems due to the lack of anthropological experience; and in class, student‐related problems such as uninterested and unprepared students, resistance to certain anthropological concepts, and ethnocentrism. I suggest that holism can be used to overcome many of these problems. TEACHING ASSISTANTS, INTRODUCTORY ANTHROPOLOGY, HOLISM
