I describe an attempt to develop and teach a course, “American Business and Foreign Cultures,” in a practically oriented M.B.A. program. After an initial period of troubles with students and administrators, I hit upon a scheme of using the course itself as a foreign experience that could be analyzed in terms of principles discussed in class.
