With this issue, Discussion and Debate is replaced by Reports and Comments , reflecting the desire of the Editorial Board to encourage the prompt publication of short factual reports of the results of recent research (preferably, less than 1,500 words). There will be less emphasis on exchanges between authors and their critics, although manuscripts already accepted for Discussion and Debate will be published, some in this issue and some in later issues, and the Editors will still consider for publication brief comments concerning articles and reviews that we have published.
