On April 8, 2022, the European Union approved the fifth package of anti-Russia sanctions. Among other things, the sanctions include a ban on Russian ships entering the EU ports. The European Union is increasing pressure on Russia and coordinating its actions with the United States and their allies. The common goals are to oust our country from the global financial, trading, economic, political and humanitarian space, to cause maximum damage to the industry, and to reduce the level of technological development. Finally, to make Russia a global outsider, to destroy its ability of full participation in world processes. The collective West is acting within the framework of its goals, which explains the massive sanctions strike on Russian maritime sector.
