The article presents the problem of translating films from Russian into Polish. First of all, the problem of translating non-standard vocabulary (low colloquialisms, argo, obscene vocabulary) is shown. The research material is the Russian film “What a Mess!” and its Polish translation in subtitles. The author evaluates the translation methods and the final effect of the translation of stylistically reduced vocabulary.
