This article is the result of an investigation about the Bullring of Campo Pequeno, which was inaugurated in 1892, being today one of the most emblematic buildings of the city of Lisbon. Although the history of this building has already been approached by other authors, this is a theme that worth is to be developed from the point of view of the history of art and the history of the nineteenth century, both from the point of view of the analysis of the revivalist architecture of the building, either from the point of view of its integration into a Lisbon area that was then being planned, the Avenidas Novas. In addition, the relevance of this building should be emphasized, in particular since it has few contemporary parallels, both at national and international level; and also, because its construction with brick and iron was an element of modernity that must be underlined. Furthermore, this study is a contribution to the field of Olisipography, which is specialised study in Lisbon's history.
