The article deals with the content of the academic discipline “Environmental law”. On the basis of theanalysis of the state educational standards in the field of training “Jurisprudence”, the conclusion is madeabout the place of the discipline” Environmental law “in the main educational program of the university,the possibility in the conditions of the competence approach to vary the content of the discipline, takinginto account the goals and objectives of the course, formed within the course of competencies, the profileof training. Based on a comparative analysis of educational programs on environmental law, implementedboth in universities of Russia and neighboring countries (the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic ofUzbekistan), the authors highlight the didactic features of this academic discipline. The article showsvarious approaches to the formation of the content of the discipline “Environmental Law”. It is noted thatit is necessary to use modular technologies taking into account inter-subject connections, the introductionof new training elements focused on practice. The interdisciplinary nature of the content of the academicdiscipline “Environmental Law”, the demand for knowledge of such content in the market of legal servicesallow us to speak about the feasibility of applying a practice-oriented approach to the design of the contentof the academic discipline.
