The article presents data on the state of cenopopulations of a rare endemic species Cousinia mindschelkensis B. Fedtsch. in the Syrdarya Karatau region. In cenopopulations with 1m2 size, density and age composition of Cousinia mindschelkensis were calculated by A. A. Uranov method. Age composition charts have been compiled. The chemicalcomposition of the species has been established: mass fraction of protein (1.67 %), fat (1.47 %), carbohydrates (7, 23 %),water (6.5 %), carbohydrates (sucrose – 4.11 %, maltose – 0.07 %, glucose – 0.32 %, fructose – 1.88 %), mineral elements– K (540.37), Na (167.12), Mg (110.01), Fe (23.15). Extractive substances, tannins, coumarins, saponins, alkaloids, polysaccharides, flavonoids and ash content have been revealed. Studies of chemical constituents of the species have been careout in science research center of medicinal plants at al-Farabi Kazakh National University and in laboratory for assessingthe quality and safety of food products at Almaty Technological University.
